Registered Jack 45. An eight-wire connector for the ends of category 5 cable. Though similar in apperance to phone plugs (RJ11), they are slightly wider.

- router

A device that connects two or more networks.
For years, the primary use of routers was to connect segments of networks within large companies and ISPs. However, new cable/DSL routers are designed to link the Internet to private LANs in homes and businesses. These routers typically include NAT capability, which allows multiple computers to access the Internet using a single public IP address.
