HTTP

Hypertext Transfer Protocol. The protocol used on the Internet to specify how web servers should communicate with browsers to send webpages.

hub

A device that serves as the central connection point for computers on a LAN. Any data it receives is broadcasted to all ports, and then only the computer that is “listening” for the data actually receives and processes the transmission. Hubs are the dumb cousins of switches.
