The short version: no spam, ever.
CableSense collects as little information as possible and uses it as rarely as possible. In practice, “little” usually means “none” and “rarely” usually means “never.”
The only part of the site that collects any information is the forums, and the only piece of information required there is a valid e-mail address. By default, your e-mail address is never publicly displayed, and except for administrative functions (such as sending passwords), your e-mail address is never used. In fact, CableSense will never make any unsolicited contact with you, and your personal information will never be sold or given away for any reason (except, perhaps, a court order).
For the sake of full disclosure, I should also mention that the web server logs basic information about your computer, such as your IP address and the name of your web browser. Such logging is standard procedure across the Internet, however, and I have no idea how to turn it off. Needless to say, it gets ignored.
If — for some reason — you ever want to unregister from the forums, you can! Just your username. It will be as if CableSense never knew ye!
